The Parklands of Floyds Fork – Distillery Bend

As engineer of record for the Phase 3 of the Parklands of Floyds Fork, Qk4 received the 2014 Grand Conceptor Award from the Kentucky Chapter of the ACEC. Qk4 collaborated with a highly respected team of allied professionals and provided civil and structural engineering design, as well as surveying and construction inspection services for the project. The master plan for the Parklands of Floyds Fork was prepared by nationally known landscape architects, Wallace Roberts and Todd, who led the design teamā??s efforts. In addition to WRT and Qk4, the design team also included Louisville-based architects, Bravura, and Redwing Ecological Services, a Louisville-based environmental consultant. About The Parklands of Floyds Fork

The Parklands of Floyds Fork is a nearly 4,000-acre donor-supported public park system under development within the Floyds Fork watershed in eastern and southeastern Louisville. One of the largest and most ambitious metropolitan park projects in the nation. The Parklands is a dream realized by 21st Century Parks, a nonprofit organization established to create and preserve new unexcelled parks that serve as city-shaping infrastructure. The Parklands is now 35% open, currently operating and programming the first two of four parks in Eastern Jefferson County. The entire system is on schedule to be completed in 2015. 21st Century Parks is responsible for fundraising, land acquisition, construction, and long-term operations of the new park system. Community members may contribute to the annual fund by becoming a Parklands Member. Learn more at http://TheParklands.org/member.

Community Involvement

Qk4 is committed to giving back to our local communities throughout the year. A few of our employees had the honor of cooking breakfast and serving the residents of Louisville’s Ronald McDonald House.
