Qk4 Helped Provide Cost-Saving Alternatives in the Junction

Qk4 has helped provide cost-saving alternatives for the reconstruction of the Kennedy Interchange.  In a press release Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear said, �??We are committed on both sides of the river to build these bridges as quickly as we can, at the lowest cost possible. The project team’s detailed analysis showing a much higher estimated savings is great news for our citizens.” The Qk4 team developed design modifications to reduce the cost of the I-65/I-64/I-71 Kennedy Interchange (known as Spaghetti Junction) while still improving safety and reducing congestion.  The project team’s modifications included shifting roadway alignments to reduce land acquisition and help tally up the savings. These and other modifications reduced the estimated cost of the project from $4.1 billion to $2.9 billion.
