Key Job Responsibilities

Sets up, adjusts, operates, inspects surveying equipment, including electronic total station, data collector to measure distances, elevations, angles, and other data for collection purposes.
Processes data from manual or electronic field books.
Performs basic field calculations of horizontal and vertical geometry of roadways under supervision.
Retraces or surveys boundary lines under supervision.
Performs calculations for construction stakeout for review.
Assists in researching existing record information, including record maps, plans, deeds, easements, and right-of-way documents; and maintain field data record.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to read and understand various types of documents and operate instruments to provide accurate information.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work varying schedules, including out of town, overnight travel.
Work environment is outdoors and potentially rough terrain, and requires ability to walk, sit and stand while operating survey equipment.
