Qk4, Inc., received the Distinguished Service Award at the Jeffersontown, Kentucky, Chamber of Commerce BOOM Awards luncheon.
As Bill Dieruf, Mayor of Jeffersontown, noted during the presentation: “This award is not just about recognizing continued membership with our Chamber. Although Qk4 has been a continuous member of the Chamber for 25 years, you earn the mark of distinction through action and service. We are proud to recognize a company whose contributions are woven into the City of Jeffersontown’s fiber and who’s service has befriended the Chamber for a quarter of a century.”
History in the Making
Company founder David Presnell joined the Jeffersontown Chamber of Commerce in 1988. His early work with the City of Jeffersontown included research that helped establish the Jeffersontown City Limits.
Upon his retirement, David passed the Qk4 presidential baton to Wendell Wright. Wendell held the Jeffersontown Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board position for many years.
Current Qk4 President and CEO David Smith (seen above, center, with Wendell Wright, left, and Bill Dieruf, right) continues the company’s commitment to Jeffersontown. Qk4 staff have mentored Jeffersontown High School students and the company has sponsored student events such as the Cardboard Boat Regatta. Qk4 contributed to the rebranding of and renovations to the Bluegrass Commerce Park; and designed and developed the Master Plan and Access Management Plan for the City’s main thoroughfare, Taylorsville Road. We have been providing the City with on-call engineering services for more than 20 years, during which time we have provided design for multiple drainage and sidewalk projects including (but not limited to):
Plainview Lake, Seagrape Road, Sue Helen Drive, Moser Road, Taylorsville Road and, most recently, a Watterson Trail Streetscape Design and Pedestrian Improvement Plan.
