ProLogis, a global leader within the distribution facility industry, selected Qk4 to provide multiple design and construction management services for ProLogis Park 65, a new 75-acre industrial distribution park. The park is located at the interchange of Interstate 65 and Brooks Hill Road in Hillview, Kentucky. Groundbreaking ceremonies took place on March 22, 2001, and the park is now fully occupied.

Plans for the new park included building 1.3 million square feet of distribution warehouse space, several roadway projects, and a new wastewater treatment plant designed and constructed by Qk4.

QK4 and Prologis have partnered together on more than 15 different commercial and industrial properties since 1998 throughout northern Kentucky.

Qk4 designed a master grading and drainage plan to provide the park with storm water control. Detailed site designs for warehouse construction were created, and utility lines from surrounding properties were extended onto the new site. Road improvements at the park entrance included widening 2,000 feet of Brooks Road to create a center turn lane for park traffic, and designing a 40-foot-wide entrance boulevard that extends 1,000 feet from Brooks Road into the park. A new 1,500-foot road was also developed providing access to Brooks Elementary School, which is located on an adjacent property.

In connection with the development, Qk4 was selected to design / build a new wastewater treatment plant that will provide service for nearby commercial properties as well as for the new distribution facilities. The design and construction of the plant was completed according to schedule. The treatment plant has an average daily flow of 150,000 gallons, and complies with the most stringent level of wastewater treatment regulations to date in Kentucky. It also replaces two smaller treatment facilities on nearby properties.
